Question 16764: Hello, I'm trying to help my son with algebra. It's been a long time since I've done this. Can you please explain step by step to him and me how you would determine if this is a linear equation and if so write it in standard form
7n - 8m = 4 - 2m
Also, can you explan how to do problems like:
if f(x)=4x-5 and g(x)=x^+1 find the value of g(+)-4
Thank you so much,

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
7n - 8m = 4 - 2m

Add 2m to each side:
7n - 8m + 2m = 4 - 2m+2m
7n - 6m = 4

This would be standard form for an equation in two variables.

As to the second part of your question, in your formula for g(x), you didn't give the exponent for x, and also, I don't know what you mean by g(+). Maybe you copied something wrong.
