Area for the circular pool is A=%28pi%29r%5E2 and r=34/2=17 so A=%28pi%2917%5E2 now the Area of the pool + the walk is A=%28pi%2918.5%5E2 because r in this case is (34+3)/2=18.5. now take the larger area which includes the pool +walk and subtract the pool area and that will leave the area of just the walk way. so %28pi%2918.5%5E2-%28pi%2917%5E2 which equals %28pi%29%2818.5%5E2-17%5E2%29 which equals %28pi%2953.25
