Question 16542: 10^2+27+5
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Do you mean and maybe you want to factor it???
Well, try this
That gives you the 10x^2 for the first term. Next look at the LAST number which is a 5. The only way to get that is to do a 5*1 or a 1*5. The question is what do you want to have for a middle term? In this case you need a 27x. So, when you place the 1 and the 5 in the blank spaces I left above, do you want the 5 to be multiplied by the 5x in the first position, or is this a bad idea? Of course, it's a GOOD idea, since the total has to come out to 27x, lets put the 5 on the second blank, so it WILL be multiplied times the 5x to give you 25x, and the 1 times 2x = 2x for a total of 27x.
If you multiply this out, it checks.
