You can put this solution on YOUR website!
22x=32(2.25-x)
22x=72-32x
22x+32x=72
54x=72
x=72/54
x=1.333 is the travel time for the trip to work @ 22 mph.
2.25-1.333=.917 hours for the return trip @ 32 mph.
Proof:
22*1.333=32*.917
29.33~29.34

Write an equation to find the value for the time it takes Juan to travel to work?
------------------------------
To-work DATA:
rate = 22 mph ; distance = x miles ; time = d/r = x/22 hrs.
-------------------------------
From-work DATA:
rate = 32 mph ; distance = x miles ; time = d/r = x/32 hrs.
----------------------------------
EQUATION:
time + time = 9/4 hrs
x/22 + x/32 = 9/4
32x + 22x = (9/4)*32*22
54x = 1584
x = 29 1/3 miles
------------------------
Time to get to work:
[29 1/3 miles]/22 hrs = 1 1/3 hours or 1 hr 20 minutes
