Question 16538: The question is to simplify:
2(7--4) + 5(2-5) divided by (-4)(6-2) This is in fraction form.
I keep coming up with the solution - 7/16, but the Universal Simplifier arrives at 37!
Here's how I arrived at -7/16:
2(11) + 5 (-3) or 22+-15 = 7
-4(4) = 16
so solution is -7/16

Did you double check to see if the problem is copied correctly? Did you double check to make sure you are checking the right answer? I tried a lot of different variations on the problem you gave, and I don't see any way to change it around to make an answer of 37.
