Question 16538: The question is to simplify:
2(7--4) + 5(2-5) divided by (-4)(6-2) This is in fraction form.
I keep coming up with the solution - 7/16, but the Universal Simplifier arrives at 37!
Here's how I arrived at -7/16:
2(11) + 5 (-3) or 22+-15 = 7
-4(4) = 16
so solution is -7/16
Please help me to understand what I am doing incorrectly, I will forever be indebted to whomever answers this!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assuming that your problem correctly stated is
+%282%287--4%29%2B5%282-5%29%29%2F%28%28-4%29%2A%286-2%29%29+
I'm inclined to agree with you on this one!!

Did you double check to see if the problem is copied correctly? Did you double check to make sure you are checking the right answer? I tried a lot of different variations on the problem you gave, and I don't see any way to change it around to make an answer of 37.
