p(x)=x%5E2-1
The domain is the set of all possible x-values.
Sometimes there are restrictions on x. Example:
p(x)=sqrt%28x%29
where x can NOT be negative. So the domain would
be restricted to all non-negative numbers (x>=0)
sometimes x is in the denominator: %286%29%2F%28x-3%29
since the denominator can NOT be zero, here x can NOT be 3
because x=3 would make the denominator = 0
But in your problem, x is neither under a radical nor in
the denominator.
So,............ there are NO restrictions on x and we say that
the domain is the set of all REAL numbers.
