You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve with 4 parts: Setup, Equation, Solve, Return to Part 1
Part I Setup
x=1st even integer
x+2=2nd even integer
Part II Equation
Product (x)(x+2) is (=) 34 larger than sum (x+x+2 + 34)
x(x+2)=x+x+2+34
Part III Solve
x%5E2%2B2x=2x%2B36
x%5E2%2B2x-2x-36=0
x%5E2-36=0
(x-6)(x+6)=0
x-6=0 | x+6=0
x=6 | x=-6
1st even is 6 or 1st even is -6
Part IV
Return to Part I and
replace with answers
x=1st even integer =6
x+2=2nd even integer=6+2=8
or
x=1st even integer=-6
x+2=2nd even integer=-6+2=-4
