Question 164252: This is 1 question with a 2 Parts.
On a graph that has a system of equations of
8x - 7y = 49
-8x + 7y = -49
Is the system consistent or incosistent?
Are the equations dependent or independent?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simply add the equations together to get:

   8x - 7y = 49
+ -8x + 7y = -49
-----------------
   0x + 0y = 0
         0 = 0

Since the equation is ALWAYS true, this means that the system is consistent and dependent. In other words, there are an infinite number of solutions.
