First you want to time 4 by everthing in the () so that would be (4*1)-(4*2x) to get (4-8x)+3=79.
Add 4 and 3 together
7-8x=79
Subtract 7 on both sides
-8x=72
divide by -8 on both sides
Answer x=-9
