x/3 = 4/x+1

Is it (4/x) + 1? Or 4/(x+1)?
Assuming the former:
Multiply by 3x
x^2 = 12 + x
x^2 - x - 12 = 0
(x-4)*(x+3) = 0
x = +4, x = -3
