SOLUTION: can somebody help me solve this problem: if {{{f(x)=3x^2-2}}} then find f(x+h)? this is what i did...i plug in the f(x+h) in the f(x) function, so {{{3(x+h)^2-2}}}, i got 3x+3

: can somebody help me solve this problem: if f%28x%29=3x%5E2-2 then find f(x+h)?
this is what i did...i plug in the f(x+h) in the f(x) function,
so 3%28x%2Bh%29%5E2-2, i got 3x+3h-2,but i'm not sure if this is the right answer, because 3x is raised to the 2nd power in the f(x)...please tell me if i'm wrong

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You're wrong, but you're on the right track.
f%28x%2Bh%29=3%28x%2Bh%29%5E2-2 is correct.
But
%28x%2Bh%29%5E2=x%5E2%2B2xh%2Bh%5E2
So then,
f%28x%2Bh%29=3%28x%2Bh%29%5E2-2
f%28x%2Bh%29=3%28x%5E2%2B2xh%2Bh%5E2%29-2
f%28x%2Bh%29=3x%5E2%2B6xh%2B3h%5E2-2
