Question 16308: I am having problems in solving this equation.
19-(2x+3)=2(x+3)+x take everthing out of bracket
19-2x+3=2x+6+x without Bracket
+2x+22=2x+6+x Added 19+3
+22=-2x+2x+x move variable to one side
+22=x -2x+2x cancel each other out
What am I doing wrong
Thank-you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Think of the brackets as your house and the terms inside as family members. If there's a plus inside, think that the member is warm. Assume that the negative sign is cold. So when we open the door(i.e. remove the brackets) the cold comes in. If a person is warm,he becomes cold. If a person is already cold, he becomes warm!
So now we get 19-(2x+3) = 19 -2x -3.

Can you solve it from here?
