You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hans paid $1.50 each for programs to the game. He sold all but 20 of them for $3 each and made a profit of $15. How many programs did he buy?
:
Let x = no. of programs he bought
Then
(x-20) = no of programs he sold
:
$amt sold - $amt paid = profit
3(x-20) - 1.5x = 15
:
3x - 60 - 1.5x = 15
:
3x - 1.5x = 15 + 60
:
1.5x = 75
x = 75%2F1.5
x = 50 programs originally bought
:
:
Check: 3(30) - 1.5(50) = 15
