Question 161993: Please help me solve this problem.
Make sure to superscript all exponents. All exponents in final answers should be positive. Final answers should have all single connecting signs and be arranged in descending order.
Perform the indicated operations:
(7x^2-x+1)-(2x^2-x-3)-(5x^2+3x-10)
1. If you remember order of operations say the first thing we must do is parenthesis; by looking inside parenthesis I can see we do not need to simplify anything there so my goal is to get rid of the parenthesis. Notice that we will have to distribute a negative sign to two of these parenthesis
7x^2-x+1 - 2x^2 + x +3 - 5x^2 -3x +10 Now combine like terms
7x^2 - 2x^2 - 5x^2 - x + x -3x +1 +3 +10
0x^2 - 3x +14
-3x +14
