4(m+3)-2m=3(m-3)
distribute the 4 to terms inside the parenthesis on the left:
4m+12-2m=3(m-3)
distribute the 3 to terms inside the parenthesis on the right:
4m+12-2m=3m-9
combine like-terms on the left:
2m+12=3m-9
subtracting 2m from both sides:
12=m-9
finally, add 9 to both sides:
21=m
