You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(x) = x^2 - 1
g(x) = 1 - 2*x
g(1/f(3))
first i think you want to find f(3)
since f(x) = x^2 - 1, then f(3) is found by substituting 3 for x, and you get
3^2 - 1 = 9 - 1 = 8
since f(3) equals 8, then 1/f(3) must equal 1/8.
gj(1/f(3)) is g(x) after you replaced x with (1/f(3)).
since g(x) = 1 - 2*x, then g(1/f(3)) is found by substituting 1/f(3) for x, and you get g(1/f(3)) = 1 - 2 * (1/f(3)).
since you know that 1/f(3)) is 1/8, you substitute 1/8 for 1/f(3)) and the equation becomes 1 - 2 * (1/8) which becomes 1 - 2/8 which becomes 1 - 1/4 which becomes 3/4.

answer is g(1/f(3)) = 3/4 if i did this right.
