You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the literal equation for the variable "a".

x=%28a%2Bb%2Bc%29%2F%28ab%29

Multiply both sides by ab to clear of fractions:

%28ab%29x=%28ab%29%28%28a%2Bb%2Bc%29%2F%28ab%29%29

abx=%28cross%28ab%29%29%28%28a%2Bb%2Bc%29%2F%28cross%28ab%29%29%29

abx=a%2Bb%2Bc

Add -a to both sides to get all terms in "a"
and only those terms on the left:

abx-a=b%2Bc

Factor out the "a" on the left side:

a%28bx-1%29=b%2Bc

Divide both sides by %28bx-1%29

a%28bx-1%29%2F%28%28bx-1%29%29=%28b%2Bc%29%2F%28%28bx-1%29%29

a%2Across%28%28bx-1%29%29%2F%28cross%28%28bx-1%29%29%29=%28b%2Bc%29%2F%28%28bx-1%29%29

a=%28b%2Bc%29%2F%28%28bx-1%29%29

Might as well erase those parentheses on the bottom:

a=%28b%2Bc%29%2F%28bx-1%29
