Multiply both sides by n
n*18%2Fn = n*9
:
n's cancel on the left, leaving:
18 = 9n
:
divide both sides by 9
n = 18%2F9
n = 2
:
Substitute 2 for n in the original problem and you can see it's right
18%2Fn - 7 = 2
18%2F2 - 7 = 2
9 - 7 = 2
