When dealing with fractions, I always get rid of denominators first off.
In this case, multiply both sides by 4.
4%281%2F4%29%28f-10%29-4%2A3%2A%282%2Bf%29=+4%2A%28-7%29
%28f-10%29-12%282%2Bf%29=-28
f-10-24-12f=-28
-11f-34=-28
-11f=6
f=-6%2F11
