You can put this solution on YOUR website! Find if is symmetrical to
.
y-axis?
.
x-axis?
.
origin?
.
Thanks ahead of time,Levi}}} is symmetrical to
.
y-axis?
It is symmetric to the y-axis if f(x) = f(-x)
Substitute -x for x to get:
y^2 = 4(-x)^2 -3(-x) = 4x^2+3x
----
They are not the same so there is no y-axis symmetry.
------------------------------------------------------------------
.
x-axis?
Test by substituting -y for y:
(-y)^2 = 4x^2-3x
y^2 = 4x^2 - 3x
So you have x-axis symmetry
---------------------------------
.
origin?
y^2 = 4x^2-3x
Slubstitute -y for y and -x for x to get:
(-y)^2 = 4(-x)^2 -3*(-x)
y^2 = 4x^2 + 3x
They are not equal so no origin symmetry.
