Question 157943: a. Identify the domain and vertical asymptote of the function ln(3x - 4).
Answer by nabla(475) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! For this logarithm we want 3x-4>0
Which is to say, x>4/3. The line x=4/3 will be the vertical asymptote.
This makes sense because of the definition of a natural logarithm:
LN(x)=y means
e^y=x
So, obviously x has to be positive (because e to any power is greater than zero.)
