to check subtract Craig's age from Mom;
40 - 16 = 24

Let x=MothersAge
x-24=CraigsAge, 24 years younger
Then, x%2Bx-24=56,----> eqn 1: total of their ages is 56 right?

2x=56%2B24

x=40years -----------------------> Mother's AGE
