Question 157659: The vertex of this parabola is at (3, -2). When the x-value is 4, the
y-value is 3. What is the coefficient of the squared expression in the parabola's equation?
Couldn't get a picture up, but the parabola open upward and its vertices is not at the origin. I hope this is enough info.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=a(x-h)^2+k, vertex=(h,k)
3=a(4-3)^2+(-2)
3=a(4-3)^2-2
3=a-2
a-5=0
a=5 the coefficient.
