You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First simplify, till only absolute value argument is on one side, everything else is on the other.
5%2Aabs%28y%2B9%29=15
abs%28y%2B9%29=3 Divide both sides by 5.

.
.
Absolute value problems are really two problems in one:positive solution and negative solution.
Let's do positive solution first.
%28y%2B9%29=3
y=-6
Now the negative solution,
-%28y%2B9%29=3
-y-9=3
-y=12
y=-12
.
.
.
The solutions are y=-6 and y=-12.
