You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x + 6)(x^3 - x^2 - 5x + 1)
Do it one section at a time.
We first multiply x by every term and then 6 by every term.
x times x^3 = x^4
x times -x^2 = -x^3
x times -5x = -5x^2
x times 1 = x
===================
6 times x^3 = 6x^3
6 times -x^2 = -6x^2
6 times -5x = -30x
6 times 1 = 6
We put all terms together like this:
x^4 - x^3 - 5x^2 + x + 6x^3 - 6x^2 - 30x + 6
We now combine like terms to finish:
x^4 + 3x^3 - 11x^2 - 29x + 6....This is your answer.
