You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Note: for inequalities, although you don't have it in this situation, if you multiply or divide by a negative number you MUST remember to flip the inequality sign.
.
1) -2/7 more than or equal to 2y/7 - 7/4
+-2%2F7+%3E=+2y%2F7+-7%2F4+
multiply both sides by a common denominator (28) to get rid of all denominators:
+28%28-2%2F7%29+%3E=+28%282y%2F7+-7%2F4%29+
+28%28-2%2F7%29+%3E=+28%282y%2F7%29+-+28%287%2F4%29+
+4%28-2%29+%3E=+4%282y%29+-+7%287%29+
+-8+%3E=+8y+-49+
add 49 to both sides:
+41+%3E=+8y+
finally, divide both sides 8:
+41%2F8+%3E=+y+

2) 7x + 16 is less than or equal to 8
+7x+%2B+16+%3C=+8+
subtract 16 from both sides:
+7x+%3C=+-8+
divide both sides by 7:
+x+%3C=+-8%2F7+
