This is where I get stuck. The answer in my book says -19/-17. I see how to get the -19, but can not get -19/-17.

-7r-8=11 Combine like terms on the left side.


-7r=11%2B8 Add 8 to both sides.


-7r=19 Combine like terms on the right side.

r=-19%2F7 Reduce.
