Then number of dimes = 3x
And number of nickels = x+3
Value of quarters is 25x
Value of dimes is 10(3x)=30x
Value of nickels is 5(x+3)= 5x+15
Equation:
Value of quarters + Value of dimes + Value of nickels = 255
25x + 30x + 5x+15 = 255
Solve for "x", 3x, and x+3 to get the number of each coin.
