You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1) Find the equation of the line through (-2,5) perpendicular to the x-axis
2) Find the equation of the line through (-2,4) parallel to the y-axis
-------------
1) Since it's perpendicular to the x-axis, the value of x is constant regardless of the value of y. The equation is x = -2.
---------
2) It's parallel to the y-axis, so it's perpendicular to the x-axis, same as problem 1. Same equation, x = -2
