You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"The length of a rectangle is 7 inches less than 3 times its width" __ L=3W-7

"the perimeter of the rectangle is 50 inches" __ 2L+2W=50

substituting __ 2(3W-7)+2W=50 __ 6W-14+2W=50 __ 8W=64 __ W=8

substituting __ L=3(8)-7 __ L=17
