I have asked this question before and a person was kind enough to answer it and it is greatly appreciated...but I do not understand how the person got the answer and the answer is not one of the multiple choice answers. The three before the square is what I believe is called a n-th root...but I could be wrong... I am confused by this whole problem. The multiple choice answers are
1. x^2 3square root sign 4
2. x 3square root sign 16
3. 4x^2 3square root sign 4x^2
4. x^2 3square root sign 16 Answer by Earlsdon(6294) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Solve for x: Change to exponential notation for ease of calculating:
(This, by the way, is called the cube root of x:) Apply the power rule for exponentials: Evaluate: N.B. = or
