OK, let's pick a range from -5 to 5.
From (-5,-2), the function is
f%5B1%5D%28x%29=x%2F2-5
From (-2,5), the function is
f%5B2%5D%28x%29=5x%2B4
Since for a straight line, we only need two points we will use -5,-2,and 5.
f%5B1%5D%28-5%29=-5%2F2-5=-15%2F2
f%5B1%5D%28-2%29=-2%2F2-5=-6
Plot those two points, (-5,-15/2) and (-2,-6) and draw the straight line connecting them.

Next,

f%5B2%5D%285%29=5%285%29%2B4=29
Plot those and connect those points.
