Question 154129: I need this graph! Not the explanation, but the graph itself. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you
here's what I need:
the graph for:
3x - 1 = 5x - y
Simplifying
3x + -1 = 5x + -1y
Add '-5x' to each side of the equation.
-1 + 3x + -5x = 5x + -5x + -1y
Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.
Add '-5x' to each side of the equation.
-1 + 3x + -5x = 5x + -5x + -1y
Combine like terms: 3x + -5x = -2x
-1 + -2x = 5x + -5x + -1y
Combine like terms: 5x + -5x = 0
-1 + -2x = 0 + -1y
-1 + -2x = -1y
Add '1' to each side of the equation.
-1 + 1 + -2x = 1 + -1y
Simplifying
x = -0.5 + 0.5y
I need the graph for that.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph the equation:
3x-1+=+5x-y
Usually, when you graph an equation, such as you have here, you would get your equation into the slope-intercept form: y+=+mx%2Bb, so let's do that:
3x-1+=+5x-y Subtract 3x from both sides.
-1+=+2x-y Add y to both sides.
y-1+=+2x Finally, add 1 to both sides.
y+=+2x%2B1 Compare with:
y+=+mx%2Bb The slope, m+=+2 and the y-intercept, b+=+1
The graph looks like this:
