: I hope someone can lend a hand on this one. I have tried several different ways to solve but none of the answers check.
Solve for m: Base6^3m-2 + 5 = 9.
Here is what I have so far:
log 6(3m-2) + log 5 = log 9
subtract log 5 from both sides
log 6 (3m-2) = log 9 - log 5
divide both sides by log 6
3m-2 = log 9 - log 5 / log 6
3m-2 = 0.255272505 / log 6
3m-2 = 0.328049984
add 2 to both sides
3m = 2.328049984
divide both sides by 3
m = 0.776016661
Where did I go wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The equation "log 6(3m-2) + log 5 = log 9" contains an error.
Note that log(a+b) is not equal to log(a) + log(b).
