SOLUTION: i need help on solving this problem using the distributive property..

i tried the distributive property and multiplied -2(x) and -2(1) which gave me -2x-2

I'm stuck on the part that is adding the x next to the parenthesis , i don't know what to do with that x i don't know if to add it to the -2x or if to do another step with it..

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Distribute, you did that right. Next, add x terms Add 2 to both sides Multiply both sides by -1.

You were right on the first step
To simplify, add to both sides
Now you can use the distributive property again, just in reverse
Now multiply both sides by answer
To check the answer, just plug it back into the original equation
