You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write the equation 4x(x-13)=-168 in quadratic form and then solve it by factoring.
:
4x(x-13) = -168
:
multiply what's inside the brackets by 4x:
4x^2 - 52x = -168
;
Add 168 to both sides:
4x^2 - 52x + 168 = 0; the quadratic form
:
Simplify divide each term by 4:
x^2 - 13x + 42 = 0
:
Factor:
(x-6)(x-7) = 0
;
x = +6 and x = +7
;
:
Check solution x=6 in the original equation
4(6)(6 - 13) = -168
24 * -7 = -168
:
You can check the x=7 solution
