Question 152888: (theres just a numberline starting from -3 ends at 7) and -2 is the location of P and 5 is the location of Q
Question: Point R(not shown) is located on the number line segment line PQ so that line PR is 6 times as long as line RQ. What is the location of Point R?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are given PQ (with a length of 5+-+%28-2%29 = 7
You are told that there is a point R on the segment PQ that splits PQ into two pieces. PR and RQ
You are also told PR is 6 times as long as RQ. --> PR+=+6%2ARQ
You need to start with the understanding that PR+RQ = PQ
So
PR+%2B+RQ+=+PQ
PR+%2B+RQ+=+7
6%2ARQ+%2B+RQ+=+7
7+%2A+RQ+=+7
RQ+=+1
The length of RQ is 1. The length of PR = 6.
So point R is one unit to the left of point Q.
Since Q is at 5, then R is at 4
