You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Is x=7 a solution of the inequality 5+2x<15?

Plug in 7 for x
5+2(7)<15

Distribute
5+14<15

Simplify
19<15

That's a lie, so x=7 is not a solution.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5%2B2x%3C15 Start with the given inequality.

5%2B2%2A%287%29%3C15 Plug in x=7.

5%2B14%3C15 Multiply

19%3C15 Add.

Since the inequality is not true, this means that x=7 is not a solution.
