the second number since it is an odd we will subtract 2;
x-2; then the third number we will subtract 4; x-4
so our equation would be;
x+x-2+x-4=-87
We add like terms;
3x-6=-87
We add 6 to bith sides;
3x-6+6=-87+6
3x=-81
We divide both sides by 3
3x%2F3=-81%2F3
x=-27
So our first number is -27;
