You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x%5E2-4x=3
2x%5E2-4x-3=0
Now you can use the quadratic formula,
x+=+%28-b+%2B-+sqrt%28+b%5E2-4%2Aa%2Ac+%29%29%2F%282%2Aa%29+
x+=+%28-%28-4%29+%2B-+sqrt%28%28-4%29%5E2-4%2A2%2A%28-3%29+%29%29%2F%282%2A2%29+
x+=+%284+%2B-+sqrt%2816%2B24%29%29%2F%284%29+
x+=+%284+%2B-+sqrt%2840%29%29%2F%284%29+
x+=+%284+%2B-+2sqrt%2810%29%29%2F%284%29+
x+=+1+%2B-+sqrt%2810%29%2F2+
Is that what you meant by sqrt(10)?
Here are the approximate solutions,
x%5B1%5D+=+1+%2B+sqrt%2810%29%2F2+
x%5B1%5D+=+1+%2B+3.162%2F2+
x%5B1%5D+=+1+%2B+1.581+
x%5B1%5D+=+2.581+
.
.
.
x%5B2%5D+=+1+-+sqrt%2810%29%2F2+
x%5B2%5D+=+1+-+1.581+
x%5B2%5D+=+-0.581+

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x^2 - 4x = 3
2x^2-4x-3=0
using the quadratic equation:x+=+%28-b+%2B-+sqrt%28+b%5E2-4%2Aa%2Ac+%29%29%2F%282%2Aa%29+we get:
x=(4+-sqrt[-462-4*2*-3])/2*2
x=(4+-sqrt[16+24])/4
x=(4+-sqrt40)/4
x=(4+-6.325)/4
x=(4+6.325)/4
x=10.325/4
x=2.58 answer.
x=(4-6.325)/4
x=-2.325/4
x=-.58 answer.
