f%283%29=%2818-4%283%29%29%5E2 Plug in x=3.


f%283%29=%2818-12%29%5E2 Multiply 4 and 3 to get 12


f%283%29=%286%29%5E2 Subtract 12 from 18 to get 6


f%283%29=36 Square 6 to get 36
