Let "x" =distance between the sides
So, "x+8"= length of the sides
Go back in finding the area of parallelogram,
A=distance%2Alength
48m%5E2=x%2A%28X%2B8m%29
48=x%5E2%2B8x -------> x%5E2%2B8x-48=0
%28x%2B12%29%28x-4%29=0
Use x=4m -----> distance
4%2B8=12m -----> length of the sides
