I was told the problem can have 0,1 or even 2 solutions.
Im thinking this problem has 2 solutions, But im not sure.
Id greatly appreciate some help figuring out this problem.
And could you please show me how you figured it out to?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
|-2x-2|=5
You know |5| = 5 and |-5| = 5
So -2x-2 must be 5 or it must be -5.
Solve:
-2x-2 = 5 or -2x-2 = -5
-2x = 7 or -2x = -3
x = -7/2 or x = 3/2
