You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^2-3x+5=x(x-8)+20
Start by distributing the 'x' to terms inside the parenthesis on the right:
x^2-3x+5=x^2-8x+20
Subtracting x^2 from both sides leaves:
-3x+5=-8x+20
Adding 8x to both sides gives us:
5x+5=20
Subtracting 5 from both sides:
5x=15
Finally dividing both sides by 5:
x = 3
