so the problem is +1%2F%284%287%2B3g%29%29=-g%2F8+
first i would distrube the 4
+1%2F%2828%2B12g%29=-g%2F8+
then multiply both sides by 8
8%2F%2828%2B12g%29=-g
then muliply both sides by 28+12g
8=-g%2A%2828%2B12g%29
then distrubite the -g
8=-28g-12g%5E2
then add 28g+12g^2 to both sides
12g%5E2%2B28g%2B8=0
then factor which i am too tired to do right now

Okay. first you distribute to get rid of the parentheses, so you should get something that looks like this:
%281%2F4%29%2A7%2B%281%2F4%29%2A3g=-g%2F8
Then you multiply out the fractions
7%2F4%2B%283%2F4%29g=-g%2F8
Move the g's to the right side
7%2F4=%28-g%2F8%29-%283%2F4%29g
Then multiply everything by 8 to get rid of the ugly fractions.
14=-g-6g
14=-7g
g=-2
Check by plugging in -2 in G
%281%2F4%29%2A7%2B%281%2F4%29%2A-6=2%2F8
7%2F4-3%2F2=1%2F4
7%2F4-6%2F4=1%2F4
Since the statement is true, you know that the number you plugged in is true.
Your final answer is -2.
