You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simplify:
-3(-7/a+1/6)+5/2(3-a/2)
.
Expand it out the left term (by distributing the -3 to terms inside the parenthesis):
(21/a-3/6)+5/2(3-a/2)
(21/a-1/2)+5/2(3-a/2)
.
Expand it out right term (by distributing the 5/2 to terms inside the parenthesis):
(21/a-1/2)+(15/2-5a/4)
(21/a) - 1/2 + 15/2 - (5a/4)
.
Determine a common denominator (say 4a):
(84/4a) - 2a/4a + 30a/4a - (20a/4a)
.
Combine the fractions:
(84-2a+30a-20a)/4a
(84+8a)/4a
.
Reduce (by dividing numerator and denominator by 4):
(21+2a)/a
