Begin by looking for the x's. All three have at least one x. Pull out as many x's as the term with the least number of x's (turns out to be one only).
x(x²y + 2xy² + y³)
.
Now look for thy y's. All three have at least one y. Pull out as many x's as the term with the least number of x's (turns out to be one only).
x(x² + 2xy + y²)
.
Now that there are no longer any common factor among the three terms, you know you are done.
