You can put this solution on YOUR website! Triangles ABC and DEF are similar
AB=5.0 cm
BC=6.0 cm
AC=7.0 cm
If triangle DEF has a perimeter of 360 degrees find the length of the sides of ABC
You probably meant the sides of DEF, because the sides of ABC are given.
First find the perimeter of ABC
5+6+7=18
Find out what 360 over that is (since 360 is the perimeter of the other triangle).
360/18=20
Multiply the first equation by 20.
20(5+6+7=18)
100+120+140=360
It's true. So the sides of DEF are 100, 120, and 140.
Similar triangles have corresponding sides, based upon lengths. Shortest with shortest, longest with longest, medium with medium. In other words, the letter order to name the lengths are also similar. They follow the same pattern. So,
(Triangles ABC and DEF are similar)
AB=5.0 cm
BC=6.0 cm
AC=7.0 cm
DE=100.0 cm
EF=120.0 cm
DF=140.0 cm
