Question 147963: Pls. Help!!! I can't understand this lesson. It's called Formula Manipulation
The given:
v = Vo*t+at^2
Then I have to solve for Vo,a and t.
I can't find explanations for this lesson in the net.
Please help me.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You were given:
v = Vo*t+at^2
.
and you needed to solve for Vo,a and t.
This means that they want you to "isolate" each (Vo,a and t) to one side of the equal sign (doesn't matter which side).
.
For 'Vo':
v = Vo*t+at^2
subtract at^2 from both sides to give:
v-at^2 = Vo*t
divide both sides by 't':
(v-at^2)/t = Vo
.
For 'a':
v = Vo*t+at^2
subtract Vo*t from both sides:
v-Vo*t = at^2
divide both sides by t^2:
(v-Vo*t)/t^2 = a
.
For 't':
v = Vo*t+at^2
rewriting:
v = at^2+Vo*t
subtracting v from both sides:
0 = at^2+Vo*t-v
Now, you must apply the "quadratic equation" to solve for t:
t = [ -Vo ħsqrt(Vo^2 +4av)] /2a
