Time = 8 days/job ; Rate = 1/8 job/day
---------------
New computer DATA:
Time = 5 days/job ; Rate = 1/5 job/day
---------------
Together DATA:
Time = x days/job ; Rate = 1/x job/day
----------------
EQUATION:
rate + rate = togther rate
1/8 + 1/5 = 1/x
5x + 8x = 40
13x = 40
x = 40/13 = 3.077 days to do the job together.
